Moon Shadow’s interior combines the raw and the refined, drawing on both ocean-inspired and industrial styles of design. A daring yet decadent one-bedroom cottage, it provides a treasure trove of Instagram moments for any visitors to St Ives.
Split over two levels, you will find the open-plan living room and kitchen downstairs, and a vast bedroom upstairs that sits majestically under the rafters, with a shower room and built-in wardrobe next door.
And while it may only have one bedroom, it feels surprisingly spacious, easily fitting in a 6ft super king bed, ample storage, a flat-screen TV and a walk-in shower area — all in all, it is a space that oozes style. Meticulously thought-out to maximise the compact size of the cottage, Moon Shadow is easily one of the most remarkable and distinct holiday lets in St Ives.
Downstairs, the first half of the living space has a deep chesterfield sofa, a coffee table and 40″ TV above an electric fireplace, creating an utterly tempting space to relax in after a long walk on the beach. The L-shaped kitchen divides the space from the living area, with a compact larder fridge and a breakfast bar dining area. At the back is the downstairs loo.
Throughout this apartment, the finish is exceptional. Stylish textures combine with mirrors and superb lighting to give the space a glamorous atmosphere that somehow also feels rustic. With underfloor heating and a fully equipped kitchen, this is one of the most private and romantic self-catered cottages to rent in Cornwall.
