Moon Shadow’s interior mixes the raw and the refined, the oceanic and the industrial. It’s a daring yet decadent 1 bedroom cottage for a memorable escape.


Moon Shadow is split over 2 levels.  Downstairs you’ll find the open plan living room and kitchen, whilst upstairs the whole space has been opened to the rafters with the bedroom area divided from the shower room by a built-in wardrobe.

Downstairs, the first half of the living space has a fantastic chesterfield sofa, coffee table and 40″ TV above a state-of-the-art electric fireplace; a great spot to chill out after a long walk on the beach. The L-shaped kitchen divides the space from the living area, with a compact larder fridge and a breakfast bar dining area. At the back you will find the downstairs loo.

Up the stairs the space feels surprisingly large for a cottage of this size with a fantastic 6ft super king bed, ample storage, a flat screen TV and a brilliant walk in shower area. The ceilings have been opened up to expose the rafters above.

The magic of this space though is not the practicality, great as it is, but the style in which it is finished. The space has been meticulously thought out to maximise the compact size of the cottage. The finish is exceptional, amazing textures combine with mirrors, superb lighting and works of art to give this place an overwhelming quality usually reserved only for the very best city hotels.

The whole cottage has been fitted with underfloor heating, so no ugly radiators to worry about, and since the cottage has been completely re-insulated. You can rest assured this is one of the most private and spectacular properties in Cornwall.

Please note that small – medium dogs are welcome in Moon Shadow however they are not allowed on any of the furniture or upstairs. There is an additional charge of £30 per dog per stay. Moon Shadow is available for a minimum of 2 nights during March and April. For stays longer than a week please do contact the Beachspoke office.

Moon Shadow is located on Porthmeor Road immediately behind Porthmeor Beach on the northern side of the town, an area known for its thriving artist community. 30 seconds from stepping out the front door, your feet can be in the sand! That said, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches in St Ives and if you fancy a change, a short 5 minute stroll through the cobbled streets will bring you to, Bamaluz, Porthgwidden and the harbour beach along with at least a dozen top quality restaurants, art galleries and craft shops.

Moon Shadow comes with a private parking space located in a small courtyard underneath the property. The entrance to the courtyard is steep and narrow so this space is only suitable for small/medium size saloon or estate cars (for example Ford Focus, VW Polo, Peugeot 206) and not suitable for 4 x 4, large estate cars, sports cars or people carriers. Should you have a bigger car, Beachspoke also owns a private secure car parking space in St Ives that is available at an additional charge.
